There are three ways of treatment the stone wool insulation waste:
- Ab. 50% of the volume - recirculate (double back) into the production process
- Ab. 25% of the volume – reuse as the input to the cement and brick production
- Ab. 25% of the volume – landfilling and recultivation of the gravel pits

Other important characteristics

The main problem is, that reuse as the input to the cement and brick production, and landfilling and recultivation of the gravel pits are the very fluctuant. It depends of the market situation. If there is demand for bricks, or cement, the whole volume is reuse, but only if the demand goes down, the whole volume stay in production facility. The main target is to find the way to reduce fluctuating volume and volume direct to landfills.
